Default Favourite Coffee House Chain (US Canada & UK)

Black coffee on the way to work? Enjoying a latte while studying and stealing wifi? Stalking that chick from high school who moved on years ago and thinks you are a perv?

Where is the spot to get some coffee??

FAQ

Spoiler:
Why is my favourite spot not on the list? While I am sure Boca Grande Taqueria in Boston (both locations) is adorable, there aren't enough poll spots.

What if I don't like this type of food or drink? Maybe not the thread for you. But I'm sure you will complain anyway.

I don't think that one place is consistent with the others: That's not a question. And I don't care.

What's the worst city for food in America? Columbus, OH.

I haven't heard of one of those! What should I do?? Uninstall the internet.

What if I have a local place that is better than any of these? That's great! Tell us about it. But you aren't special. We all have great local spots.

What if I can cook better than any of those places? Neat. But you probably can't you just think you are edgy because you poached an egg one time.

I buy peets at the supermarket to brew on my own and it's really good. I dont think we have the actual store here though, but I voted peets. We have Starbucks all over the place here and I'm unimpressed by it.

Havent tried all on the list though

I don't think we have Peets locations here either but I do buy their beans sometimes. For a place that's ubiquitous, Dunkin has decent coffee.

Fresh roasted beans make a huge difference, so I prefer a local roaster.

Maybe I'm basic, but I absolutely love Starbucks. The mobile ordering, the aesthetic, the atmosphere in their stores, and of course the coffee. There is a super comfy Starbucks right down the street from my apartment and chilling there on a weekend is super cozy.

the atmosphere is cool. the coffee doesn't do it for me. the coffee snob in me is appalled by all the non-coffee drinks they serve under the coffee umbrella. when I do go to starbucks I just get basic coffee. the basic coffee is okay, but nothing great. everyone else gets some frapp filled sugar crap that looks to be mostly milk and sugar, with a tiny bit of coffee maybe.

Me too!! The Dark Roast is always brunt and bitter tasting like I like and the Flat White is my afternoon pick me up. I have been a loyal customer for 15 years now, and I would be closer to retirement if I had been a shareholder for all of that time.

I started going to Starbucks pretty frequently when I was a freshman in college, fall of 1996. I haven't gone daily that entire time (especially recently, because $$$) but there have been long stretches where I did. The total dollars I've spent there are probably into 5 figures by now.
