We needed the conclave to start today with the "pause" in the other draft!

sorry guys, you might as well give me the championship now:

And in a bizarre twist, basketball star Dennis Rodman -- who recently met with North Korean leadership in a controversial visit -- is expected to arrive in St. Peter's Square on Wednesday in a makeshift popemobile as he campaigns for Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana to become the church's first black pope.
this endorsement seals it imo

Breaking news!

Quote:
Local Priest to Become New Pope?

In a rather strange turn of events, a priest from Westchester, New York has become a viable candidate for the papacy. After the first night of the conclave, the cardinals from Latin America took the popemobile out for a quick spin to pick up some chicken marsala to pay off a bet made on the World Baseball Classic with the United States cardinals.

Unfortunately, food poisoning seems to have struck the papable cardinals Dolan and O'Malley, as the inability to keep down undercooked poultry is a fallability that can not be seen in the infallible pope. Father James McDonough, most recently of St. Aiden's in Westchester County, has been called up for a spot vote for the afternoon conclave session. He was chosen due to his current location, a mission to Rome, and his sneaky delivery of a homilee in under 10 minutes during football season.

"He was a relative unknown, but he's crafty with the wine. He knows how to get things done at this level. I think he could be taking the name 'Il Papa' rather soon, if you get my drift," said Cardinal Ouillet.

This cinderella story could be wearing ruby red slippers by the end of the ball.
