nExx isn't a symbol used in the textbook.

I think it is pretty clear what the formula would be. nExx is the present value of \$1 paid in n-years if both lives aged x are still alive. Thus

${}_nE_{xx} = v^n \cdot {}_np_{xx}$

very similar to

${}_nE_x = v^n \cdot {}_np_x$

Which is the same connection that I made over and over again when we switched to multiple lives. For example (there are lots more):

(c) (2 points) These annuities are sold to 1000 independent individuals, one annuity to each individual. Using the normal approximation, calculate the probability that the present value of payments on the portfolio is less than 1800. Very glad I did those now.
I cover how to work these problems in great detail in the TIA seminar. I also work numerous examples exactly like these problems.

Personally, I felt that percentiles were covered adequately in the TIA seminar. I flagged and watched the percentile premiums section several times, since I knew it was one of my weaker points. It didn't help me that much on the exam, since I blanked on it, but I feel like this was more on me not doing enough problems.

I believe I said that about percentile premiums, not percentiles in general.

Not so sure if I should do C or MLC in October sitting, but I'll join anyway (at least for the first few posts).
