Default Asset Allocation in P&C companies

Hi,

Anyone here familiar with asset allocation in P&C companies or even reinsurance P&C?

How do they decide what % of asset would be allocated to bond, stock, cash, property...?

Do they use ALM (duration calculation) to perform this practice? Any software?

Thanks!
