Another fine set of notes!
I noticed a discrepancy between the notes from Buffalo Hunter and Hamstrman. The formula which describes a consistent estimator (which is right near the beginning of both sets of notes) is different. In addition, the formulas for mean-squared error, which follows the consistent estimator, are a bit different. (Take note of the "hat" above the theta.)

The consistency def. is equivalent i.e. the probability of difference being within some amount delta > 0 is 100% which is the same as probability of difference being greater than some delta > 0 is 0%. Is that what you are talking about?

Kazodev,
You're right. I guess I didn't catch the "<" vs ">".

The hats above the thetas are still in question, though, in the mean-squared error formulas.

thanks alot guys....
btw, FYI, i believe Buffalo P. Hunter's notes are based on Broverman's manual
and hamstrman's notes are based on ASM manual, so it's good to have two different ways to look at the same materials...

Ha ha. Yeah you're right about my notes... It's tough not to stress over notation when every manual is different... Why isn't there a standard?

I've decided to contribute my partial formula sheet for Exam 4/C. Bear in mind, despite all efforts to check for errors, it is neither (1) perfect, nor (2) complete. Use at your own risk. It is based off of Dr. Weishaus' 5th edition of the ASM manual, but it is a far, far cry from any substitute for the manual itself. I do not believe it infringes upon any copyright, but should there be any objections, I sincerely apologize in advance.

If I have time, and if I discover I really, really, REALLY love actuarial science, I may update these notes at some point in the future.

"No, Moslems don't believe Jesus was the messiah.

Think of it like a movie. The Torah is the first one, and the New Testament is the sequel. Then the Qu'ran comes out, and it retcons the last one like it never happened. There's still Jesus, but he's not the main character anymore, and the messiah hasn't shown up yet.

Jews like the first movie but ignored the sequels, Christians think you need to watch the first two, but the third movie doesn't count, Moslems think the third one was the best, and Mormons liked the second one so much they started writing fanfiction that doesn't fit with ANY of the series canon."

REMINDERS

This is not as extensive as some, but I used it for some quick reminders of stuff that came up pretty frequently and SHORTCUTS so I didn't have to keep thumbing through study manual.

I tried to keep it brief too.
