Are you 100% sure that these warranties offered on Amazon site in Europe are really funded by Amazon and not by insurance/warranty companies? Even in the US, Amazon offers warranties, but, these are backed by insurance companies like Assurant, etc. Usually, commission rates for the retailers are like 40-50% of the warranty price. So, Amazon would still get tons of money from warranty without really backing them.
