Angry Are you against University Accreditation Programs?

Apparently people from Canada or UK can get ASA without writing exams?!

I think the prelims are badly designed, but I am 100% against these waiver programs, what do you think?

It's fine. I don't do actuarial work anyway, so, might as well open the floodgates and see where 'actuaries' can find work.

Went to University of Waterloo in Canada, the work we did in class in order to pass was much more difficult than what was needed to get through the prelims (I did not get credit for any exams so did all prelims).

So, personally I don't see it as "ASA getting easier" at all. If the person made it through university they can surely get through the prelims. Although maybe a different school would not be as difficult.

The argument against that POV is always, "If it's so much harder, then just sit for the 3 hour exam to validate that." If taking the course really prepares you to a greater extent than studying for the exam, you should need almost zero additional effort to pass the exam.
