Default Prometric Centers

My experience at prometric centre was a pain not because I failed but because it was 50km away from CBD and 80km away from where I live (you can do the math) and I had to get an uber out there during peak hour there and back, which set me back $100.

I wish SOA would let you take the exam and other exams i.e. more than twice over the same exam date window for sitting exams. I wish I could repeat my failed exam the next day or until I pass it during the exam period.

It is frustrating in Western Australia that the one prometric exam is not centrally located. It is located in a fairly lower socio-economic area relative to the CBD and other areas where I live.

I chose SOA over Institute of Actuaries because it was CBT, which I also did during my CPA studies and only want to pursue associate status for to add to my analyst skills.

Why can't SOA be more flexible and allow other centres such as Pearson Vue or the company doing Certified Actuarial Analyst qualification to administer exams. This is me venting frustration. They should at least allow proctored by university official on a university computer.

Any tips or hints about different prometric centres.
