Is it embarassing as a supposed "math geek" if I tell you that I don't see how that equation is true? Can you explain at a level appropriate for somebody who only got a BS, and it was many years ago?

The coolest thing about that one is it's not a vanity plate -- it was a standard normal license plate issued by Florida.
