I subscribe to some industry newsletters (like Business Insurance alerts) but those are easy to ignore if I'm busy. Real emails I get 0-20 a day, depending on what's going on. We have internal IM, and I sit near most of the people I work with regularly, and a lot of the external people I work with are phone people, not email people. So my email is pretty manageable these days.

I LOVE that (although I get 90 days, not 30). I sort and save the things I know I will want to keep, and only delete stuff I know I will never look at again. Everything else just sits in my inbox and eventually goes away, unless I discover that I care and save it.

This -- Did you consider talking to the guy in person before sending a damning email blast?
