I'll be there... but I live here so it's not all that exciting to me

I'm up to meet some AO people. I could do dinner one night, if anyone is up for it.

So a guy from Uber is going. Do people come to these just for the networking potential? Looks like Uber is getting into healthcare transportation.

Ambulance service? They want to get paid more for going to hospitals?

I took a Lyft to my doctor's and the hospital the last two times I went. So much more convenient that taking the bus or interrupting my wife's day.

It really wouldn't surprise me at all of they wanted to try and get preferred contracts for NEMT. It'd be pretty clever of them to negotiate a special policy for areas where medicaid is well restricted geographically. Give a PMPM to Uber for policies that are activated for a medicaid member.

Huge cost savings! $10 to nearest ER vs $2,500 Ambulance ride to same ER 5 miles away. Ambulance is also federally regulated, but the costs are still pretty high in terms of the ride.

I work with a managed Medicaid plan who contracts with rideshares to provide rides to/from appointments. Particularly for that population, the social issues (being able to take time from work, having someone to watch their kids, being able to get where they need to be) are paramount.

Anyhow, I will be there (presenting at session 71 Tuesday and 127 "the suitcase session" Wednesday). Looking forward to catching up with friends old and new.
