For questions, please contact susan.jett@mercer.com Portfolio Manager-BOS000KI Description The Portfolio Manager will assume the lead responsibility for management of the Americas based EAFE Equity, Emerging Market Equity and Canadian Equity Funds. The Portfolio manager will play a key role in building customized portfolios in these sectors for implemented consulting clients and contribute to the broader business through involvement in new business opportunities and support of existing clients in a specialist capacity only, for the above sectors. To fulfill this role, the Portfolio Manager will: - Lead the design and management of the assigned strategies - Play a key role in building customized portfolios in the above sectors for implemented consulting clients - Proactively identify the best investment structures on an ongoing basis to ensure portfolio objectives are met - Play a key role in the identification and selection of suitable investment managers - Monitor the relevant incumbent managers - Contribute to a two-way dialogue with the Manager Research team to ensure awareness of its best ideas and vice versa - In conjunction with the Operations Team, maintain ongoing contact with the appointed managers to monitor performance and resolve any issues arising - Contribution to the determination allocation of cash-flows across the relevant portfolio structures, as needed - Manage ‘fair value’ unit pricing and other operational issues, in conjunction with the Operations Team, as required - Assist and manage the negotiation of mandate design - Support the servicing of Implemented Consulting portfolios as the sector expert for clients in the above nominated strategies, including contributing to the preparation of suitable material for and discussions with clients - Contribute to the preparation of new business presentations, Request for Proposals and tender documents as required - Present to internal and external parties as required - Provide a high level of assistance to the Chief Investment Officer in fulfilling the above functions This position may sit in either Boston or Toronto. Qualifications * Tertiary qualifications in an analytical discipline such as finance or mathematics * At least 10 years relevant industry experience * A sound understanding of investment markets and the management of assets * Strong numeracy, analytical ability and technical competence * An ability to sift through complex issues to identify and convey the key drivers * Sound project management skills and the ability to deliver complex projects on time * Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills and appropriate attention to detail * Self-motivation and a ‘can do’ attitude * A suitable post graduate qualification, such as CFA or MBA is preferred * Experience with EAFE equities and Emerging Market equities required * Canadian equities experience in addition to EAFE and emerging markets a plus |
