Our vents are in the floor, and we make good use of some of those old AM Best green books by keeping them on the vents.

My general rule is err on the side of the outside temp (not in the extreme, but if you can't get it perfect). Why pay extra to be uncomfortable? If I'm gonna be uncomfortable, at least make it cheaper.

Funny, seems like this is common knowledge - women like it warmer. I did not know this at all.
Well at least it confirms my sample of 1...

I wouldn't say I like it colder though, just normal temperature (where normal is ~70)

Dear lord, the open office environment. I'm tired of these frickin fads
Open offices are the worst. Cubicles are semi-tolerable. The best thing about my current job is a real office. Walls and a door and everything. And a thermostat.

For the record, I pretty much agree that the open areas and Cubeville should be set to around 72, and people should adapt from there without whining. Some buildings require WAY more adapting than others, but there's not much you can do about that.

Whatever. As for my office, it took over 20 years to get one. For as long as I have it, I'm going to enjoy it!

While women on average want warmer temps, I, personally run warm, and prefer cooler temps. I roll up my sleeves while nearby colleagues are wrapped in sweaters. So I don't see this as a male/female issue, but as a "people are different" issue. I also think 72f is probably a decent compromise

It's pretty obnoxious to criticise people who are wearing more clothing because they are cold, though.
