Very inappropriate thread for Non-Actuarial Topics. Post this junk only if the reef, if at all.

My Terror thought, the Wuhan Coronavirus kills 30% of humanity.

When you say "30% of humanity" which of these (or fill in the right answer) do you mean?
1) 30% of the world population will die
2) People's desire to help other people will decline by 30%
3) Some combination of 1 & 2 that reflect a 30% summation decline (like 10% of the world population dies, and people's desire to help other people falls 20%)

I was thinking 1), but some combination may actually be more terrifying, like 10% of population dies, and the survivors have 20% less desire to help other people.

Sorry guys it's really hard to post at work because of allergies. Before my vacation I told you about two feral cats the data scientist brought to work, a baby panther and a baby puma named Billie (I'm allergic to cats). Billie is very feisty and fights with the panther and knocks my papers off my desk. What's worse is that when Billie fights with the panther their owner puts her in a microwave to keep her trapped and puts a sign up that says "Puma in microwave don't turn on." This makes it so I can't have lunch.

All of the valuation actuaries also have cats so they thought it was unfair that the data scientist could bring his. The CEO let everyone bring their cats because of this, and I am really having a hard time coming back to work post-vacation. I don't think it's fair that my coworkers can do this because I am allergic to cats and the cats won't stop bothering me. Have any of you dealt with this situation and know how to get cats to stop bothering you?
