For Question 16 of the 2018 LTAM MC section I got 2993, but the SOA solution has the answer as 2998.3. It's the same answer choice, but do you guys think it's a typo/miscalculation on their part?

Since you posted neither their solution nor yours, of course we will think that it is a typo/miscalculation on their part.

You're halfway there. Why do you think that their solution is wrong?

Because their solution is wrong. If you go through the equation they give, you get 2993.

It's a typo or miscalculation on their part. I got 2993.02.

Just cleaning things up a bit. I appreciate the professional conduct of those actually studying for the exam (and I wish you all tremendous success on your next sitting). But see no reason to humor a troll.

I'm going to use the full CA bundle. I've used them for all my prelims and a poster in the October 2018 LTAM thread claims to have earned a 10 using CA, so it's more than adequate for me.

I seem to very rarely come across any problems under the mortality improvement category, specifically: age and cohort-based spline, and the CBD models.

Is it even worth trying to memorize and do practice problems for these?
