Default How to prepare for FA

I'm planning on doing the Final Assessment next week. Is there anything you guys would recommending doing or reviewing before the clock starts? Are there some helpful forum posts that would be good to read before?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Not really any help without having the assignment to reference, but helpful after you do.

Block the whole 96 hours. You'll need it.

I'm at this stage, too.

I just don't want any typical FAP surprises like a question that makes no sense in English.

Are the questions straightforward? Like do you know exactly what they are asking? I am not asking if you know the answer lol.

Are there more issues with questions that can be interpreted in one of seven ways? Inclusive/exclusive "or" sentences? A missing comma once took almost 2 hours out of one of my days--and that is a minor example.

Yes, I know the stuff. And I am a very confident writer who can get on a hot streak and roll to the finish.

Any Excel Puzzles without instructions?

96 hours is tight. I would do it in one sleep break, likely.

Thanks.

For example, will I encounter any of this brilliance?

"Return of Cost of Insurance Charges. This feature returns all COI charges paid during the first ten years of the policy. At the tenth contract anniversary the benefit is paid and the customer will forfeit the benefit upon surrender before the tenth contract anniversary"

That was written on EOM6's assignment sheet. If I see that on 96-hour FAP, I will cry.

task 2 was kind of confusing, but there are a lot of recent threads on task 2 that can help you. i suggest reading up on them beforehand. i think they are pretty lenient with the grading though. i said something that was pretty much the opposite as someone else on task 2 and we both passed. might be about justifying your answer.

i also sort of hated task 5 where you had to put all previous tasks in a report to the client. it was hard to figure out what to say without outright repeating the previous 4 tasks. it was basically a writing exercise though.

the other tasks were relatively easy. for task 1 become familiar with insurance risk. there is a paper on the soa website about it that i linked somewhere.

the hardest thing about FA was the time constraint pressure.

Thank you greatly, AO Fan!

I have no issues with miles of writing or regurgitation of previous writing. Only the Excel documents with no hints and *very* poor questions and prompts.

Was Task 2 annoying in the what-are-they-saying way?

Thanks again!

it was confusing to figure out what the heck they meant by risk/return metric. i read a ton of old google groups before doing it and had already decided pretty much what i would say before i even downloaded FA for that specific question. i still don't quite understand it, but i guess i wrote something passable. when i took it, there weren't a lot of good threads on task 2 so i looked at old google groups. now there are a lot of good threads on task 2, so you probably won't need the google groups. task 2 wasn't even that bad overall. it was that one portion of task 2 that confused me and seemed to confuse everyone.
