It is very much inspired by Diablo - which the weapon mechanics are equally passable. If you're playing Diablo for the sword play, your probably doing it wrong.

I "finished" Hollow Knight with 85% completion. Prob going to start Googling where things are at this point, I don't think I want to try scouring the map for all the hidden things I missed. The gameplay is a lot of fun and seems well thought out, and it has an interesting story if you put some effort into it. I'm torn on all the backtracking, on one hand it's exciting to stumble on something hidden and interesting, on the other I'm a bit tired of going through the same areas repeatedly.

I did end up Googling one thing during that first play through, I reached a point where everything I could see on the map was either a black gate or too high to jump. So I was just sitting there staring at the map for 10 minutes before saying "Screw it" and Googling where to get the double jump.

I did manage to stumble upon starting the Grimm Troupe though, which was pretty cool. Grimm is a piece of **** boss, but then again I reached that point before finding the shade cloak (I think that's right? the thing that lets you dash through enemies) so maybe it wouldn't seem so awful now. I should go back and retry, the worst part is you have to sacrifice 2 charm slots.

A lot of the bosses feel frustrating the first couple tries but then it just suddenly clicks. The final boss kicked the crap out of me the first few times and then suddenly I got the rhythm down and killed him only taking a couple hits the whole fight. I can't actually decide what boss gave me the most trouble so far, maybe the Lost Kin? Traitor Lord took awhile too.

Cool! My weekend didn't go as planned (I was rear-ended on Friday, and my car was "totaled" (driveable, but would cost more to fix than the MV of the car), so I've been dealing with that. I didn't start it yet, but I think I"ll jump into it in the next couple days.

EDIT -- no one was hurt, wanted to make that clear.

Definitely stoked for Cyberpunk. CDPR always puts out great games.

A lot of people here love D:OS2, but I've never played anything in the series. Can I just start with this one? People seem to love it, but I don't know much about it.

I hit level 42 over the weekend in AC: Odyssey. I feel like I haven't tackled even half of the story or side quests yet (with the exception of the legendary beasts, where I'm one away from completion). And I'm still having a ton of fun playing it.

for comparison, when I hit level 40 in AC: Origins, I think the game was pretty much over and I was pretty much over the game. Who knows... I may get to a similar point if I get a seriously OP character and the fighting isn't as fun (I'm looking at you Artemis outfit with a 50% buff on archery damage).

"Apex Legends" was just released, I don't think they had announced anything or at least not that I had heard of. It's a f2p battle royale from respawn the people that made titanfall.
