Default How has the either Bilbo or Gandalf influenced your thinking?

You know what to do.

PLEASE, by all means, include Harry Potter characters in this discussion, if they are relevant in your case.

No, this is not a parody thread. Like that other poster, I'm interested in what people will say.

When Bilbo had his eleventy-first birthday bash, he made me realize that we say, "... eight, nine, ten, eleven, ..." but we don't say, "... eighty, ninety, tenty, eleventy, ..." I never thought of that before hearing Bilbo say it.

After reading the books I realized that I, like Bilbo, know more than half of you half as well as I would like, and like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Take that as you will.

I'm twice as tall as half of you, and half as short as twice of you. But I'm feeling stretched, like pudding that's been scraped across too much ham.

If you have kids, check out VeggieTales' parody of LOTR, Lord of the Bean.

Gandalf has created some sample exams that have probably influenced a few people here...
