No way that company is "large" then.
Large companies tend to have very structured interviews with pre-planned agendas. If they included lunch, they would have paid for it.

I also had an interview recently with a very big company. They sent an agenda. 2 hrs of interviewing with 8 different ppl (some 30 min interviews were with two ppl), then there was a 1 hr "thing" at the end. At first, I thought it was company tour or lunch with associates. Nope. It was an hr long business case assessment.

I literally thought I was going to collapse and faint on my way home (1.5 hrs commute from the company HQ to my home in a large city). Had hard time breathing from dehydration, hunger and 3 hrs of talking from series of questions thrown at me with no sufficient pauses in between.

It was a test of your actuarial cheapness and/or wussiness to speak up.

But, I'm not sure what the optimal reaction is.

This was a small line of business for one of the top 10 US P&C companies by direct premium & market share.

Thankfully I didn't faint. If I hadn't eaten (and paid for my own lunch), I would have going into the 4th hour.

Going off on a tangent - I have been involved in interviewing in the employer side, but i'm never a deciding factor (usu, i am the bullshit detector re: technical skills, ut that's it)

So usually I spend the time trying to sell the job the person is interviewing for. It is odd to me how rarely that is done. Esp. if the person would be a big addition.
