Default Modules Webcast

Wow, no one is talking about this. I'm kinda surprised. I thought it was very informative. Glad we know more details now. What did you all (who listened in) think?

I think $2,100 is a lot of money. And it's dissapointing how late the FAP modules will be. Other than that, I didn't feel like there was a lot of new info.

I thought it gave lots of good information. Clarified quite a bit for me about the FAP modules and the FSA exams and modules. I hadn't realized that the FSA exams are not really related to the FSA modules.

Another informative fact was that they two module exams for ASA's (the FAP exams) are going to be 2, 2-hour multiple choice computerized exams with and 80%+ pass rate.
I believe these changes are for the good. Although an ASA now might feel slighted....people who are career ASA's probably dislike the new system and I don't really blame them for feeling that way as it is understandable. Attaining fellowship will be a great challenge though with the two 6 hour exams.
One thing I don't like is the first module exam being in August. If these things are rolling out in January and that the whole thing can be done in about 300 to 400 hours, there should be an exam earlier than August...of course, they would have to roll them out faster than 1 per month though. If I pass Exam C here in a few weeks, I basically can't write another exam until August. Yeah, I guess I could take Course 6, but that would be foolish since it only converts to the FSA modules (600 hours of time vs. 200).

I thought this webcast was for employers - I'll probably listen in on 12/6.

How late are these supposed to be? What do you mean by late, etc?

We appreciate any information.

Module 1: end of Jan
Module 2: Feb
Module 3: March
Module 4: April
Module 5: June
1st FAP exam: August

Modules 6-8: Fall 2006 (TBA)

Which basically means that you are looking at finishing at the end of 2006 at the earliest. You can decide on your own how likely it is that they will meet this new schedule or be delayed further.

They're doing another webcast on 12/6 where I'm sure they will cover all this and more.
