Default CAS Annual Meeting - Las Vegas - Nov 2018

Hello,

I am planning to attend this meeting in Las Vegas for new ACAS recognition. I've been told that the registration will open in August. Since I'm not familiar with the registration procedure for CAS meetings, I would like to know if the start of registration will be announced somewhere on the CAS website? Is there a link that I should be following?

Thank you

If you haven't already, sign up for the weekly CAS Wednesday email blast. That will let you know when it is open.

With any CAS meeting (other than the COP and maybe regional affiliate meetings), registering for the meeting itself is not as important as registering for the hotel. The meeting will not sell out, but the hotel sometimes will.

This the link the the CAS continuing education calendar. i check it fairly frequently.

In addition to what Piano Boy said, watch this video for more info on your first meeting:

But definitely book the hotel.

Good thing there's no shortage of inexpensive hotels in the area...

Caesar's Palace gives me the willies, so I'll likely stay elsewhere.

What's wrong with Caesars? Don't we get a group rate?

There is a group rate, but it's not much less than the rates being offered online right now for me. I am going to stay at Caesar's just because I haven't stayed there before and it's on the company dime. I would stay somewhere cheaper if I was paying.

Having experienced CAS meetings both ways, I ascribe positive utility to staying at the hotel where the meeting is held.
