I checked out Vonage for the VOIP. Seems reasonable, but then I'll have to cut out my phone deal with Spectrum. They hold my internet and tv subscription. If possible, I'd like to put all three of these under one roof and have the LLC pay for it all. That way I can pay myself less $

Knowing your background, I think that you know more people than most folks who strike out on their own (and that's the key to getting work as a consultant). I hope that it goes well!

That is really good feedback! I appreciate it DrNo!
I think the AO has helped me with "knowing more people". Being social has certainly helped make contacts and friends here for sure.

I have been thinking about this a lot lately also. One thing that concerns me and you may want to get Lawyer advice on is a drafting contract language.

You want to make sure that the contract is tight and doesn't have any glaring holes.

Agree with TM on a contract (glad to let you see mine if you want, lmk). Don't think non-compete is a big deal until you hire somebody. Companies will want you to sign an NDA, and you could probably just let them do it when it comes time for that (again, I have one I'd be glad to share).

in health you will also need BAA review, right? and secure everything for storage and file sharing? (assuming you will get PHI sent to you?)

I decided on a local-referenced name. My home town was also a port city back in the day. There are several businesses that use this as well.

Pike Creek
Southport
Kenosha

Southport Actuarial Services, LLC
southportfsa.com is live and active. Now I just gotta spend some time on it.

or

Pike Creek Actuarial Consulting (Pee-cock - lol)
Pike Creek Actuarial Services, PCAS.com (sort of has a casualty ring to it)

Getting clients.

All else on the list pales in comparison and most can be done on an as needed basis as you go.

1/2/2017
X EIN
X SoWI DFI LLC registered (Southport Actuarial Services)
X Office rented
X southportfsa.com registered

Go Daddy also offered me to "rent" microsoft office suit for only 6.99 a month. That was pretty nice.
