Some thoughts on the episode.

For some reason, I find it hard sometimes to catch the dialog in this show, so I didn't really catch what was happening in the open. Did some sort of disaster befall the Kingdom and a lot of the buildings (all?) burn? I guess none of the buildings were habitable and that a rebuild would not be possible? All I saw were leaking pipes.

If the hero group could stay not holed up in a shelter, how did the Whisperers survive?

The initial Negan scenes were annoying. I guess it was to juxtapose his saving of Judith. They should let him freeze. (Oh, jeez, how did we forget Negan? Well, it was hectic and crazy getting everyone safe...)

What was with all that masochism at the end?

Well, in a blizzard liek that, footprints aren't gonna stay around very long.

Side note: I thought the footprints at the place where the walkers had crossed road were a little too neat. I would think walkers drag their feet a lot more, resulting in longer trails.

I'm wondering why it didn't look like winter at the whisperer camp.
I think some time had past. The hero group was allw ell and safe, too.

Who's on the radio? New person? Dwight? Heath? Morgan? Rick? That's a rough ranking of my guesses' likelihood, but more likely it's one of the people we already know.
My first thought was Dwight. Or Alpha. Saying she somehow knew they violated her space.

I turned on captions and replayed the radio scene. It said it was a female voice and basically was asking if anyone was out there

it seemed to me whatever system they were constantly fixing (going all the way back to Henry fixing it at the beginning of the season) broke. It appears to be boiler for a radiator heating system. also, given how little food they took with them, they more than likely were running out of food too. Although that's what they should have noticed a hell of a lot sooner than something like their Boiler failing.

the whole thing of needing to close up the Kingdom in the middle of winter and the Alexandria plot of heating issues really killed me as far as writing goes.

The unpreparedness of people 10 years out just doesn't make sense. Alexandria's been going since day 1, they seriously didn't have any idea how to keep everyone warm? and the chimney being gunked up, makes 0 sense. who doesn't check that when its going to be a primary source of heat? It's like these people spend the day just frolicking in the woods. their whole time should be spent either on food, killing walkers, or doing things that would prepare them for this exact situation.

and the kingdom, as i said above. if they ran out of food, they would have known that was going to happen months earlier, so why wait until a snow storm to go. and if it was solely the heating issue, why the frak couldn't they just do what Alexandria was doing and cut some wood and build some fires? just doesn't make sense.
