I thought some time had passed too. I think Beta even said so himself and made a comment like "the time away has been good for the herd."

It's like these people spend the day just frolicking in the woods. their whole time should be spent either on food, killing walkers, or doing things that would prepare them for this exact situation.

and the kingdom, as i said above. if they ran out of food, they would have known that was going to happen months earlier, so why wait until a snow storm to go. and if it was solely the heating issue, why the frak couldn't they just do what Alexandria was doing and cut some wood and build some fires? just doesn't make sense.
What if, and I'm just spit balling here, the presence of the Whisperers messed up with supply chains, planning for the future, etc.?

It wasn't the middle of winter. It was fall. King even remarked it had snowed that hard that early ever.

ah, ok. i missed that comment. and then that makes the crossing the frozen river even more unbelievable. rivers don't freeze with one storm. the moving water prevents that from happening, especially to a thickness you could walk across. the only way it gets like that is if it's been freezing temps for several weeks or possibly longer.

Had to look up specifics, but they did address it. kinda.

Quote:
At some point, during the six years after Rick's supposed death, Maggie, along with Hershel, left Hilltop to join Georgie's group. Jesus reads a letter that Maggie sent through Hilda and Midge and tells Tara that Maggie is doing good. Its revealed that Michonne is unaware that Maggie is gone until Siddiq tells her. Siddiq explains that Maggie left with Georgie and is helping with some new community far away, but that is all that he knows. Michonne has also been avoiding Hilltop out of fear of seeing Maggie and what Maggie would do to her if they ran into each other again.

I wouldn't count on Maggie coming back quite yet; Warner Brothers, who owns the show, are trying to get it picked up by another network.
