Holding out hope that George Clooney becomes more than just a stranger?

Although, OP was asking about being 30 and an actuary.

You won't be too old, but it's important to be approachable to your younger colleagues. An old teammate of mine was so jaded that working with him was so demotivating.

He turned 30 while I worked with him. But maybe the problem wasn't the age.

Passed my first two exams, graduated college, got my first internship and EL job at 32.

I'm 33 now, and the only thing that could make it slightly difficult is if you've got some sort of ego about the whole thing; my EL peers are younger than me, and those in my age range are mostly in the ASA-FSA catagory with larger salaries, and cooler responsibilities. I could see how that would bother someone else, but it doesn't bother me since I'm completely content with the decisions I made along the way to becoming a 33 y.o. EL actuary, and I don't hold it against anyone else that they did the actuary thing sooner than me.
