Question Investments & Financial Markets Manual

Hey guys,

I want to begin studying for MFE's revised Investments and Financial Markets exam being offered in July 2018 around the middle of January. However, there are no published exam manuals for the upcoming Investments and Financial Markets exam. Does anyone have any tips or ideas about what I should do to begin studying?

Thanks in advance and all the best

Since the syllabus is not out yet, it's hard to say what exactly is going to be on the exam

...but not that hard. There's an IFM preliminary syllabus available on the SOA website, and it looks like it's retaining a lot of the concepts from current MFE. It appears to be cutting out interest rate models completely, and reducing the focus on pricing exotic options. The five chapters at the beginning appear to be new additions [Mean Value Portfolio Theory, CAPM, Efficient Market Hypothesis, VaR(it looks like Monte Carlo simulations is classified under this topic), and capital structure].

Look at the source materials/textbook for the first 50% of the syllabus, and use an old ASM manual for the latter half.
