Does someone have a good source for calculating Segmented and Unitary reserves?

The manual skips over all of the details to start (discount rate, expense allowance, etc...)

And the past exam problem mentioned in the manual: 2007 CSP-IU Spring #14 is full of calculation errors.

I'd like to really understand this concept, but neither option is being helpful right now.

Just discovered the perfect loophole.

On page 342 of my PAK study manual it says:

Quote:
An error that is made for 2 or more years is a method of accounting and is not an "error"
I'm now going to write at the bottom of every calculation based problem:

"Assume this method has been used for at least the past two years. It is therefore an accounting method and can't be considered an error."

It's foolproof!

Thumbs up Pass Rate

According to actuarial lookup last past rate was high at 48.4% (avg is 45%) but looks to be trending up. I think I got a 6-8 on the exam depending how many ppl they pass.

They asked a lot of calculations that I felt confident for. Had a good grasp on DAC, FASB DAC and shadow adjustments. PBR question I bullshitted. How you feel iPig?

I think the overall difficulty is fair. PBR question really caught me off-guard. That’s a lot of points for critiquing!
