A Blues win and I win my family bracket challenge as well though (one family member picked Boston to win it all and would pass me if it happens).

On to Game 7. Rask made some big saves to curb the momentum from the Blues in the first half of the game. Thing that stood out to me was the lack of holes (particularly 5 hole) he was showing while shifting position on the several tipped Blues shots. Blues needed to convert on the powerplay to tie it up but couldn't get it done and the Bruins took their chances in the second half of the game.

Curious if Raptors close out the Warriors tonight would this be the first time the NBA finals ended before the Stanley Cup or has it happened before?

Possibly. NHL seems to have stopped with the every-other-day scheduling of playoff games, seemingly to match the NBA's two days off.
The regular season ended a few days earlier than the last few.

Did the NBA finish their season earlier than usual? It has been creeping up, but ending on the same day of the week every year (Wed).

IDK, seems like both get later and later every year. Waiting for one of them to end with 4th of July fireworks pretty soon.

Turned out to be moot but I seem to recall the SC used to wrap up just about the time NBA finals were starting but the overlap between the two seems to be growing.

OK, Sydney or the Bush for these teams.

It used to be that BOTH sports did play a day, rest a day schedules. Now, they need to have as many games on as possible, not overlapping each other. First round games don't need to have two days off, just so there are three nonoverlapping games on a Saturday or Sunday.
Shit, the NBA took a whole weekend off. Played Friday, then Monday. WTAF??

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a big hockey guy but the 1st period has been entertaining. Boston seemed to dominate but Blues have 2-0 lead.

Is is common to get caught in a line change with less than 10 seconds in a period? Because it seems to me even if you are gassed it’s better to stay on the ice for 10 seconds then try and make a change.

Congratulations Blues. Nice to see a “Canadian” team win! Now if that Canadian NBA team wins tomorrow I will be truly happy.

Going up 2-0 last night, ... great, but we did that in Game 1 and lost. When Schenn scored to make it 3-0, that was the first time I started thinking "holy shit, we might really do this." When Sanford scored to make it 4-0, all I could think was "do not ****ing blow this like Toronto did."

I did not cry nearly as much as I thought I would, but I lost it when Bettman told Pietrangelo to come get the Cup. That's when it started to sink in. My phone went nuts for a while last night, I was exchanging messages with a lot of friends. Last night was shock and processing, this morning is when all of the thoughts have wanted to come pouring out.

This summer just got a whole lot more expensive, and I'm totally fine with it.
