Glass - ***
No spoilers, which naturally makes it hard to be specific about what I liked and didn't like. The acting was great, and the directing was great, but in the end I'm not sure what the point of it all was.

The Lego Movie 2 - ***
Like Glass, this felt like a sequel which the maker of the original felt obligated to make, yet didn't have a real compelling story to tell. It doesn't really take the characters in any new directions, and since we already know about the true nature of what the characters are, all the meta references seem forced and unoriginal.

I was never bored, but also never wildly entertained.

Cold Pursuit ***

Not what I expected. It's not all Liam Neeson. There is some action, some suspense, plenty of violence, and some humor. The violent bits are inevitably accompanied by a black screen where you hear the gunshot and on the screen appears a white cross and the name (and nickname) of the departed. Left the movie wondering "what was that?" but not in a bad way.

US - **** Scarier than Get Out. As you may have heard, this is a straight up horror movie. I'm not sure I understood everything that happened in the third act. I think each viewer is going to interpret the ending in their own way, and I suspect that's the way Jordan Peele intended it.

I haven't seen movie (and have no plans to), but here's my response to the franchise.

Didn't like Unbreakable. Was like what was the point of this.
Was willing to give Shamalayan another chance but was not aware that Split was part of the same franchise until the very end of the movie. Didn't like the movie and wouldn't have watched it if I had known that it was a sequel (or franchise extension).

The director doesn't know how to make compelling stories anymore and just relies on shock value, fads, and great actors. The story goes nowhere. Your comment doesn't surprise.

Us - ***.5.

I agree that this was scarier than Get Out, but I didn’t think it was full on horror/slasher scary. At first I was like “Why did Elisabeth Moss take this dumb role?” and then with about 45 minutes left I was like “oh that’s why she took this role.” Great movie, highly recommend. Really interested to see what Jordan Peele gives us going forward.

Avengers: Endgame - Infinity Stars
Like, I know they are making more MCU movies. But everything after this is post-climax. An absolutely breathtaking achievement in movie history.
