Good. Seems to have been The Director's Cut, shown on HDNet Movies a few months ago, which I no longer get (but my billing will not be affected).

Made during the days of making films for eternity, not necessarily for money.
It's probably better if dubbed in French.
Eileen Brennan sure knows how to stare someone down.
One of my dad's all-time favorites that became one of mine. The 50s nostalgia and small town feels is very high for those who lived closer to that era.

Any thoughts on why Joe Bob got $1000 from Sam? Then Joe Bob does that thing ("not a big deal," but in today's world a HUGE deal)? Are they connected in some way?

I don't think it's ever been explained. He could have been Sam's illegitimate kid, but really there are all kinds of ties that exist in a small town.

American Factory (2019)

A good documentary. About 5 years after GM closed an auto factory in Dayton, a Chinese company opened an auto glass factory on the site. The company initially staffed about half the facility by shifting workers from a facility in China for 2 years and the rest were US hires - many still struggling to find work after working at the GM plant. After some initial enthusiasm and happiness, the differences in culture caused tension.

The movie seems to be fairly neutral in its views of what happened, which was really interesting. The story is told mostly from the POV of the workers, both American and Chinese. There are a few really good funny moments - most of faces clearly expressing wtf?

Texas Terror {1935) John Wayne B western

Pot o' Gold {1941) Nice Jimmy Stewart musical romance

Strange Fascination {1952) Odd film about a pianist brought to US in a down ward spiral over a woman

From Hell It Came {1957) I thought this was better than it is credited as Groot goes for revenge

Bachelor in Paradise {1961) Pretty funny Bob Hope

The Boston Strangler {1968) Some revisionism, especially after he is caught. Some interesting camera work

Amar Akbar Anthony {1977) Drags, but extremely funny, but not where it should have been. The fight scenes had be laughing hard

Saturn 3 {1980) Pretty bad and illogical sci-fi

52 Pick-Up {1986) Pretty good and stylish black mail and revenge

Nurse Betty {2000) not funny

Big Momma's House {2000) really not funny

Traitor {2008) Deep inside cover into terrorist organizations. Good, could have been better

Bolt {2008) Canine version of Truman show. Just ok

Bad Teacher {2011) pathetically not funny

The Green Hornet {2011) Too much Rogan, not being funny, annoying character bickering and the worst fight scenes outside of Bollywood

Safe {2012) silly set-up, but Stratham doing what he does and good actions

The Lorax {2012) Didn't feel Seuss. Did not work for me

Only God Forgives {2013) weird, sociopaths in Thailand. Incredibly violent, but worked for me, in some ways

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters {2013) Not bad actions, but Renner looked more like her father than brother. and the witchs' strengths seemed too inconsistent

The Croods {2013) Much better than I expected.

Dracula Untold {2014) Not a terrible origin story combining Stoker and the real Vlad

20th Century Women {2016) strange coming of age story, with a single mom looking to tag team her son's development

Teströl és lélekröl (On Body and Soul) {2017) Actually realized I saw this a while ago. Odd as a couple seems to share a dream

Beoning (Burning) {2018) Korean film, physiological thriller, that is slow, but kept my interest. Avoid if you want your movie tied up neatly

Dragged Across Concrete {2018) This could have been better, just a terrible look at cops and throws back race relations 40 years

The Hate U Give {2018) Very good look at a driving while black shooting and a girl torn between her two worlds. Over done a bit, but good discussion

Has anyone watched "under the sun", the documentary about North Korea? I'm thinking of watching it, but it's not free.
