Not sure if I am a fan of the pumped in crowd noise.

Makes it feel more normal as a viewer. The silence in last week's games, where you can just hear the players yelling non-stop, was just weird. Probably also to help players get in a game mindset?

I don't think it is piped in at that stadium. Read it was just engineer doing it at Fox.

Just watching now. Yeah, this sucks. Typical Fox, ruining soccer.

Quote:
FOX has taken a big step closer to using fake crowd noise for fan-free football.

Currently airing on FS1 is a Bundesliga soccer match between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. The stadium is empty, but the broadcast include traditional soccer sounds, from the persistent dull rumble to scattered chants.

The game is scoreless, so there’s not yet been a chance to hear how FOX will handle the reaction to a goal.

It all sounds natural, until the camera angle inevitably shows the thousands of empty seats in the venue.

FOX and other networks reportedly are considering fake crowd noise for NFL broadcasts this season, if games don’t include fans in the stands.
No, it did not sound natural. But it was louder than the shitty announcers.

Daily Mail is expecting that the Euros will take place AFTER the Domestic leagues are done. And (still expecting) FA Cup final on Aug 8, a week after league ends. So, quarterfinal FA Cup matches will probably be a midweek during the season when the other teams are not playing, and maybe the semi's during that week after the season.

https://www.espn.com/soccer/german-b...w-they-made-it

So, Sky Deutschland is the one adding crowd noise and the fans decide..., wait, I mean the broadcasters decide for the fans whether they're going to hear the shit or not.

And I need to research this quote:

Quote:
First of all, we're really pleased to know us introducing the sound option has been so well-received worldwide.
What?
Quote:
For us, it was clear that we want to provide fans with extra options as part of our live broadcasts in order to deliver the best possible experience during this very special situation.
I did not get an option.

Yahoo has a poll, with 49% likng it or loving it. This is our world now.

https://sports.yahoo.com/bundesliga-...194248793.html

Here's a dumbass opinion in USA Today:
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...eat/111859288/

Here's a smarter opinion from SI, but won't be able to hear it due to the pumped-in crowd noise:
https://www.si.com/soccer/2020/05/27...sts-bundesliga

Anywho, I'm going to check my second audio track to see if I have an option, as Sky wants ME to have.

Freiburg-Leverkusen match void of unheard-in-stadium noise.

Look, someone thinks exceptions should be made to soccer laws, you know, when the message is something he supports:

https://www.espn.com/soccer/borussia...i-racism-chief

It was Sancho's second yellow card of the season. He knew he'd get it, and he didn't care. It was worth it for him to get that message across.
I don't think a football association wants to determine on a case-by-case basis which messages are acceptable and which are not. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

One team in Ukraine has 25 COVID cases:

https://www.espn.com/soccer/ukraine/...v-has-25-cases

Quote:
Karpaty player Egor Nazarina told Ukrainian TV channel Futbol that he did not believe anyone at the club had displayed symptoms of COVID-19.
