A Scandinavian game in which all of our main pieces end up in the middle of the board. It was very sharp with both of us threatening checkmate for what seemed like ages if our opponent lost the single piece defending the mating square. I felt fortunate to navigate out of it, and actually ended up a pawn when Minnesotah moved his king inwards instead of defending the pawn and trapping his king.

I felt like it had draw written all over it at that point, and tried to find a way to advance my pawns, but in the end couldn't without trading our rooks which would simplify it to a draw for sure. I'm just glad I didn't blow it! Good game!

Good game! Very well played. I particularly liked Nd2, which is obvious to the computer but I thought was a very nice resource for you, and something I had missed entirely. After that I'm just slightly worse, though I also felt I could hold the draw.

Good game. Was an interesting one. I felt pretty good for a good chunk of it. Your knight getting to d3 (move 18) was when I started feeling behind. From there you clearly outplayed me.

I was white and we got into a French Exchange opening I wasn't too familiar with. I was able to get a nice advantage by forcing my d pawn forward into his personal space. Unfortunately I played a line that in which the computer thought was a theoretical draw at one point. I thought it was clearly winning, and I guess Abstract Actuary thought the same because he didn't go down that line. Eventually I was able to grow my lead and he resigned.

Good game!

Was an interesting game. Felt very even, if not felt good for the opening and early middle game. Your d-pawn ended up being very problematic and when you took the edge, for sure. Then I did manage to work in a pretty serious threat with doubled rooks on your 7th. Apparently I could have turned that into a draw, but I thought you were still winning after trading your queen for my two rooks. Computer disagrees.

This was a simple Smith Morra accepted where I never got anything going. Eventually my compensation for the pawn was gone and he made his pieces better than mine, and was up a pawn. I'm fond of 8. e5 in that position, but apparently the computer doesn't like it. I guess with queens off the board it doesn't favor the person playing for an attack.

I defeated Macroman with the French*. A bit aggressive, and eventually led to a queen trade and me winning the d pawn. Good game.

I've recently been playing the French against e4. Mostly because I hate playing against it as White (foreshadowing to my game against Minnesotah). Was always a Petrov player, switched to the Pirc a few years ago, and am a bit bored with that. The Sicilian is too daunting. Still some interesting play after that, but eventually I got a differentiating passed pawn.

Looks like Minnesotah and I never started a game. Will do that now. We usually finish in a reasonable amount of time.
