From now until EOD Tuesday, we'll have run 400k - 500k tests. I hope we don't have a 20%-25% positive rate.

Saw a guy on FB post pictures he took on the Strip in Las Vegas. Kinda reminded me of scenes from post-apocalyptic movies. Everything was there but the people.

Wondering what the positive rate is. "They" seem to be testing only those with symptoms, and maybe others who have been near those people.
FL has 10%. WA was 7%, according to google search result from Scientific American.

This book from 1909 called “The Machine Stops” eerily describes the situation we could be entering right now abstractly speaking.

Read the plot of this science fiction book. Note it was written even before the formation of the Soviet era. The part I would like you all to read is the Plot Summary.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Machine_Stops

What I mean is the mass belief in the stock market that we just saved everything with a 2 Trillion dollar out of thin air stimulus package of record proportions, exceeding even the stimulus that was thrown into the Recovery Act of 2009. This machine run by a group of elected officials who we trust can manage it all properly and we will never have to face any pinch from it ... it’s called the General Fund of the United States Treasury machine.

Could it not be the human bias that stemmed from COVID-19 reaching members of the Senate, the fear affecting these 100 people? See the fact is if this problem is NOT solved very very quickly, we will be out 2 Trillion additional deficit dollars, and then have an economic dire situation beyond repair without returning to the medical crisis. Should we not first address the medical crisis? Use the money for that? And then after that situation has a progress path, then do the stimulus?

NY is 28%. Not sure if it’s NYC or NY State. Blended in entire country is 15% (NY is roughly half of positives). Numbers were available in a link posted earlier today about testing volume per day.

Well that's silly. Moose are much scarier than bears.
