We had 7 players in our first event of Season 2, drawing a total prize pool of $165 after 4 rebuys. Play felt loose and relaxed during the first hour with the comfort of 2 rebuys available. DTNF built a sizeable cheap lead early in the tournament, building up to almost 4x the starting stack.

After the rebuy period concluded, LetsGoSU was the first victim to fall. He flopped a pair of kings with his KJ, but unfortunately ran into my pocket Kings and finished in 7th.

IMP went out next after flopping a heart draw with 87 and going all in against DTNF’s QQ. Queens held, and IMP was eliminated in 6th.

Shortly after, DTNF flopped a full house holding AJ, while SnareSound completed a flush on the turn. Snare pushed all in on the river and was eliminated in 5th, giving DTNF an even larger chip lead with only 4 remaining.

After some four-handed play, Cohete called my QJ pre-flop all-in with his AK when I tried to steal his blind. I got lucky and managed to come out ahead, eliminating Cohete in 4th. Kid Rock and I grinded trying to catch DTNF's dominating chip lead, with Kid Rock eventually eliminated in 3rd after his 88 lost to my AJ when a jack hit on the flop.

DTNF and I battled heads up seemingly forever, back and forth with several changes in chip leader. After some aggressive plays I was able to grind him down to around 5k chips versus my 28k stack, when he pushed all in pre-flop with 3T and I snap-called with AA. Aces looked strong after the flop, but runner runner to complete the flush gave DTNF new life. He took the chip lead again shortly after that, and the match was fairly even for another long stretch. After a nearly hour long heads up match, my 55 all-in preflop held against his AT and a long Season 2, Event #1 was finally over.

Thanks everyone for playing, and see you all (and hopefully more) in 2 weeks for our Knockout Event #2.

That is how I remembered it. My wife was none too pleased when I told her it would be a few more minutes after we got to heads-up.

GG all, and thanks for setting it up.

Sorry all, but due to unforeseen events I unfortunately won't be able to make tonight's game.

I'll send your money back to you, glassy. If you want to run the game and collect / distribute the winnings, please feel free to do so.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

I can't handle all of that, was hoping to just get in at the last second and play. No worries.

I was definitely planning on playing tonight. Am traveling on biz and while I may have been late, was looking forward to playing. Looking forward to next event.
