So there are 8 CPCU exams. ACAS gets 3 courses waived and are left with 5. If he/she took CPCU540 for VEE, that's 4. CPCU exams are like OC1/OC2 but each of them are shorter than OC1 or OC2. It only takes like 2-3 weeks of studying to pass comfortably, so people just take one or two while waiting for upper level exam result.

Is it industry standard to get CPCU raises? I know, I know, not underwriting outpost but curious anyway.

I heard of cash bonus. Plus 3-4 day trip to conferment (I think 2016 was Hawaii, so lots of people got CPCU back then)

Underwriters like it when actuaries get CPCU. It shows a level of respect. And, as bjc2142 points out, if you can pass actuarial exams, it's not very hard to pass CPCU exams.
