Considered it, but holding off due to other work related circumstances. Maybe next year if they still have it.

I think I only got it because it's in Boston where we are located, and therefore I can argue that the cost is basically equivalent to the CAS Annual Meeting + round trip flight + hotel.

Yo, so I talked to someone who said they thought DOIs wouldn't accept models built in R because it's open source. I have never tried to file a model at all, let alone one built in R, so what do I know, but that doesn't seem correct to me. What do you think?

I think I've filed several models built in R, and DOIs have had no problem with the software.

It was definitely worth the cost IMO. Learned quite a bit, and feel I have a much stronger foundation in R than I had from self-learning it.

Good to know. Hopefully I'll be relatively close to ACAS at this time next year so I might be able to talk the employer into springing for it.
