After reading all the Cosmere novels, I'd honestly say the best way to read them so far is in the order of release. It doesn't necessarily put all the stories together and it kind of jumps around a little bit, but it also breaks up having to read back-to-back 1000 pages books, which can be nice. It also kind of reveals all the behind the scenes connections slowly. Anyway, that order is:

Elantris
The Final Empire (Mistborn #1)
The Well of Ascension (Mistborn #2)
The Hero of Ages (Mistborn #3)
Warbreaker
The Way of Kings (Stormlight #1)
The Alloy of Law (Mistborn #4)
The Emperor's Soul (Elantris Novella)
Shadows For Silence in the Forests of Hell
Words of Radiance (Stormlight #2)
Sixth of the Dusk
Shadows of Self (Mistborn #5)
The Bands of Mourning (Mistborn #6)
Mistborn: Secret History (Mistborn Novella)
I always recommend Mistborn first because, as was discussed, Elantris didn't pull me in like some of the others. I still think it's a good work, but not sure it's where I'd start if I wanted to try to suck people into Sanderson's works.

Yeah, there are a ton of Easter eggs.

For instance, did you catch that
Spoiler:
Vasher from Warbreaker = Zahel from Words of Radiance?

That's fair. Although I really do like the overall story/epicness of Elantris. Raoden and Sarene are kind of obnoxiously paragon, but there is so much stuff going on and they face so many twists and turns that it almost doesn't really bother me in the end. The only things that really truly bother me about Elantris are
Spoiler:
1) Uncle Kiin being a pirate lord... absolutely no reason for this.
2) Adien being an Elantrian / Adien having an autistic ability to know the precise amount of steps anywhere - very Deus Ex Machina.

Not until I read about it later. I'll have to pay more attention. I mostly just look for Hoid, but there are others apparnetly I should be looking out for as well. Also,

Spoiler:
Any idea who those people were at the Ire? 17th shard says they are from Sel, but I didn't make any connections with any of the characters to previously known characters

I don't think they are previously known characters, but the old ones are clearly Elantrians.

I read the coppermind wiki from time to time, but don't edit or participate on the forums.

So for those who have read the Steelheart and Firefight - what do you think happens next in Calamity?
