Default Austin TX SOA candidate connect 2018

Hello,
I've passed two exams this year and I'm starting to send out resumes. I am a 40+ year old career changer coming from a background of college teaching and programming. I have no experience in this field and no contacts. Reading up on the difference between SOA and CAS finds me much more interested in pursuing the P&C route.

Would the SOA Candidate Connect - Austin 2018 be worth attending if I'm set on the CAS route? I mean, is this an event that is sponsored by SOA but actually a mix of SOA and CAS candidates, or is this mainly for SOA folks?

I'm out in California, so there would be considerable time and expense attending. If I felt like there were going to be a lot of P&C networking or job opportunities then I feel it would be worth it.

Just looking to see if anyone has some advice.

I've been to the one in CT a few years ago and the target audience is those that want to pursue the SOA tracks.

The presenters will be those in the SOA side.
If you want to network, you'd be networking with SOA actuaries.
