Their unbridled optimism just shows how ****ing immature most of them are. One hot ten-game stretch and they're ready to claim the division over the Nationals and declare themselves "Kings of New York" again? Give me a break. That shit lasted a cool five minutes the last time they made it to the postseason. The callers on WFAN are just horrendous. I appreciate the average Yankee fan since generally they seem to be a lot more educated on the dynamic of a baseball season, especially during this cold streak when our guys aren't hitting. Nobody is hitting the panic button. But every Met fan I know will be quick to point out "LOL youre 4 games behind the Red Sox, money doesn't buy wins" like shut the **** up our entire core is home grown you ****s. Talk to me again when your rotation can survive a full season.

And holy shit, I can't wait until their bullpen ****ing implodes because there's no way their relievers can maintain this pace all season. But even guys like Joe and Evan that I respect are saying that the Mets pen is comparable to our pen like give me a break, in your dreams.

God, Mets fans are the ****ing worst.
These two posts don't seem to go together. Seems you're a Yankee fan...

So how exactly is your core homegrown? I mean sure it's more of a mix than in the past... but Stanton, Didi, Walker, Gray, Chapman, Robertson, Kahnle, Sabathia, and Hicks are pretty significant to your team and none are homegrown. I'll give you Gardner, Judge, Severino, and Sanchez... but come on the homegrown thing is a little overplayed until Bird, Andujar, and Montgomery become major contributors.

What's the ruling on Tanaka? Homegrown, imported talent, or literally imported talent?

Can't say as Grape has ever come off as a Yankee fan.

Homegrown is a myth. You get players where you can when you can and you build the best team possible through - draft, waiver wire, free agency, trades and international signings. if you draft well and have good player development you get get a great source of productive cheap labor for a few years. If you draft like crap you need to spend more in FA if you want to compete.

Also if your team stinks on ice for several years straight you have a higher draft spot and better chance of hitting on your draft picks.

What Grape posted was all over reddit the other day. I think Grape was basically mocking Yankee fans that have that narrow a focus.

And the Mets have absolutely zero depth at catcher. On one hand, giving the job outright to Plawecki at this point might turn him into the hitter everybody thought he could be. On the other hand, if he doesn't show improvement, the Mets have zero alternatives. I'd expect then to call up Jose Lobataon to back him up.

Never mind. They just called up Tomas Nido, who is definitely not ready for the majors.

But in the meantime, let's enjoy Big Sexy starting a double play:
