The lighting makes it so you can't really see anything. You can see the discoloration near the wall...that is where the dampness/wetness started.

I don't know. My daughter is pretty good about picking up rocks and other small things off the floor.

Maybe you need a 1 year old around the house. But I don't know about giving her a pencil to pry out the beans. That might not end so well.

My kids are older, and could pick them up. Smaller fingers make it easier.
