I enjoyed hd's story because... I was once taken into custody for driving into a fence, but was released immediately once I convinced them that although my car moved from one side of the fence to the other, it did not in fact go through the fence.

I'm doing better.

First had symptoms about 9 years ago. Lasted a couple days. I was straining my urine for a week and inspecting the screen for anything that looked like sand. Nothing. I finally figured it passed and didn't bother telling me. Then about four years ago, new symptoms. Doc said it could be the old one that was dormant all this time. It passed. And it hurt. I caught it in the strainer. It wasn't big, but it was sharp. It was calcium.

Anyway, yesterday morning I first felt it at about 7am. It just kept getting worse. I don't know how common it is, but with pain like that, I get nausia and dry heaves (is there a common medical term for dry heaves?). I was heaving so violently, I apparently ruptured some capilaries in my face, which is now all blotchy. By the time I got to the docs at about 9am, it stopped moving, and I was starting to relax.

It hasn't moved since, but I know it's there, and I have some pain killers for when it does. Oh, got a CT scan in the afternoon, so I'm waiting to hear if anything needs to be done other than let it pass again.

I feel fine today, except for a very sore throat.

Save you the wait...

I was gated into a parking lot with several other patrons leaving the same bar. My tiny Honda Civic was clearly stuck. The Ford pickup in front of me had other ideas and drove through the fence, flattening it. I followed him out, but the cops grabbed me. Luckily I was not under the influence, they just saw me driving over the fence as they turned the corner. I asked them if they thought a 10 year old Civic could flatten a fence without any noticeable major scratch. They thought about it and told me to not drive over any more "flat fences".

If you haven't seen this book before, I recommend:
http://www.amazon.com/More-Kidney-St...2257698&sr=1-1

Stu got that book after he had two kidney stone run-ins, and since then hasn't had any issues. Has been about 10 years since the last one.
