There are some fantasy characters that I wish could have been done a bit better than they were. Elric of Melnibone would be pretty cool in non-pulp fiction, for example.

Late 80s and I'm in a niteclub under the influence of substance or substances that may or may not include alcohol. Leaning against the bar with a friend of mine. I look to my right and start cracking up almost instantly. Turning to my friend Jimmy on my left, I say, "I must be really effed up because the guy on the other side of me looks just like Rick James." Jimmy's response, "That's because it is Rick James."
