Default 8M & CSP Overlap

Has anyone already taken 8M? I passed it in 2005 - and now I need to take this for PD credit. Will there be a ton of overlap - can I do it if I satrt now?

Very little overlap. 6 study notes are the same as 8M, 13 new ones. 3 of the same chapters from Group Insurance, 10 new ones. 2 of the same chapters from Managed Care, 2 new ones. All different chapters from Individual Insurance. And then there's 5 new books.

What do you mean you need this for PD credit?

Did you take 8M? Reading through the syllabus - it seems to overlap significantly, and about 1/3 of the text readings are the same...

I love it when there is discussion on a topic, and then the OP responds back with a contradictory answer to their own question (which is inevitably the answer they wanted to hear in the first place).

Here you go: There's some overlap, and there's some new stuff. You're a genius however, and I'm sure you'll do great. Go for it!

Is that better?

Yes, I took 8M last sitting. And despite what your casual look may suggest, I have two files with the chapters and page numbers for both syllabi, and your wrong. Of textbook readings, there are about 888 pages for CSP, only 103 of which were on 8M. Of study note readings, 152 out of 559 pages were on 8M. Of online references, only 66 out of 340. That's 18%.

Why can't you submit PD. Is it because you didn't have any PD credits up to this point?

I was wondering that too - if you've passed exams 1-8, you have until 10/31/07 to file PD...

They said they passed 8, not 1-8. Probably missing 5 or 6.
