Default Viatical settlement market

I recently read an article on viatical settlements. I didn't realize the market for this was growing so much and there were even brokers involved in the transactions. Have any institutional investors begun securitizing the settlements?

I'm also curious to know if any life insurers are considering this trend in pricing, valuation, etc. I suspect that lapse rates would be affected (most likely lowered) if a significant amount of business in a life block followed this trend.
