I see on the website that registration Exam P material will be available on April 30th and the course will be coming in "May 2007". Will you be rolling out videos the way you have been with FM, etc? Will this provide enough time to study for the August sitting of the exam without using an excelerated schedule? Thank you.

Yes, to a certain extent we will be rolling out the videos as with FM. I'm already done with a lot of the videos, though, so I don't think that this will be a problem. I've finished the lessons for discrete probability, most of 1-dimensional continuous probability, and just finished the solutions to the third practice exam this afternoon. Those are the biggest topics, making up over half the exam, and will give you plenty to work on. I still have another 3 weeks until April 30th, and looking at my lesson plan it is possible that I will have all of the basic lessons done by the May sitting of the FM exam.

It is certainly possible to do it between the May FM and August, but the timing is somewhat tight. There are 12 or 13 weeks between the exams, depending on how you count, which is slightly less than the length of a college semester. The amount of material on the syllabus is similar to a 1 semester advanced undergraduate course, so you would have to go slightly faster than a comparable college course. That is certainly doable because in a self-paced course you can go faster on the material that is easy for you, and go more slowly on the material that is harder. If your caculus skills are somewhat rusty, however, that will increase the amount of time and mean that you may want to spread it out until November.
As to the second part of your question, yes, you can start the seminar in May and extend it to November. We would want to somehow verify that you were indeed taking the exam in November, but doing that isn't a big deal. For example, sending us a copy of your exam registration would be fine. |
