Default Totally Random and Ambiguous Question

Okay, so BF and I are discussing Outer Banks, NC because we're going there in August and he showed me, in general, on the map where it is. I asked him if it was where the people speak a different language. He said "No, that's Louisiana." But, that's not what I'm talking about. There's an island just off of the coast of either NC or SC where they have their own language or something. I remember seeing it in a documentary as well as maybe a tv movie or something. Does anyone have a clue of what I'm talking about????

Gullah. And that's more along the SC/GA coast.
