Default FREE study note on Poisson processes

I wrote a 14-page sketch "Poisson Processes (and mixture distributions)" as an alternative to the syllabus material in Ross's Probability Models textbook and decided to make it available as a free pdf download from the Austin Study Notes section of my website http://www.actuarialseminars.com . [I've been told that it will _be_ the syllabus material on Poisson Processes starting in 2008.] If you think it might help you understand and compute with those models, help yourself.

Even though I've already passed M, I also want to express my sincere thanks for your very generous efforts in providing this study note in addition to those you've already created. I've always found your exposition to be clear and wonderfully effective in its simplicity.

"No, Moslems don't believe Jesus was the messiah.

Think of it like a movie. The Torah is the first one, and the New Testament is the sequel. Then the Qu'ran comes out, and it retcons the last one like it never happened. There's still Jesus, but he's not the main character anymore, and the messiah hasn't shown up yet.

Jews like the first movie but ignored the sequels, Christians think you need to watch the first two, but the third movie doesn't count, Moslems think the third one was the best, and Mormons liked the second one so much they started writing fanfiction that doesn't fit with ANY of the series canon."
