Default Stick It!

A spin-off from Oracle's spin-off thread.

The 'rents bought be a nice $1600 P.O.S. for my first car...and I was mortified to learn they had bought me a manual transmission. The best was stalling the stupid thing four times at a four-way stop intersection with a fellow classmate behind me laughing his arse off.

I love driving the stick. I learned it quickly, as I had to drive it up Marion Street from the water to I-5 on a regular basis. I wish I had had three feet.

Love the manual transmission, but it's tough to find them other than in an economy car nowadays.

I have a stick shift and I love it. It's a 2000 Nissan Sentra XE with 35k miles. The gas mileage is great. Since I recenlty moved to NYC, I've been trying to sell it with little success. My asking price is $8500. Do you think it is difficult to sell because of the war, or because of the fact that it's a stick shift? I'm thinking probably a little of both.

I prefer them. Chicks dig a guy who can operate a manual transmission.

Resale for a manual transmission sucks. When I bought by Accord (used), I used the fact that it was a stick as part of negotiating down the price.
