DAYTON - A Dayton woman was charged Friday with aggravated menacing and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle after police said she threatened to shoot a man for not giving her correct change.

Marsha Powell, 60, of Broadway Street, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail shortly before 1 a.m. after police located and arrested her at home.

Police were called to Rut's Drive-thru, 32 N. James H. McGee Blvd., after an employee reported that a woman had come into the drive-thru and "had put a gun to his chest and accused him of short-changing her," according to a police incident report.

According to the report, the employee, 34, told police Powell had purchased some items at the drive-thru, left and then came back 30 minutes later and asked if he had given her change, the report said. The employee said he had given her change, but Powell disagreed. When the employee told her to check her purse, Powell pulled out a revolver, cursed at him, aimed the gun at his chest and told him she would take him out, according to the report

A witness also told police that Powell told the victim "I will shoot you over $20."

Powell left, but police located her with the help of a witness.

Powell admitted she showed a gun, but denied putting it to the employee's chest. Police checked Powell's purse and found a loaded revolver in it.

Powell told police she had the gun for protection.
