Doing this makes the stereo go to zero as well. I may have something set up incorrect.

Instead of posting the picture, I have the Yamaha RX-V659

Apparently you have the audio cables going out from the TV to the receiver, instead of from the source devices (cable box, DVD, etc.) directly to the receiver? Or your volume is being controlled by the cable box?

I am looking for a comparison of the 606, 706 and 806.

I know i've seen it somewhere on AVSForum but can't find it now.

Yesterday, I ordered the 607 through this deal.

http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/2066...conversion-374

I am not sure when it will ship exactly. But the cost was $374 + tax.

6Ave has Onkyo TX-SR607 7.2 audio receiver (Black) for $499 - 25% off coupon AFLAUD25 = $374 with free shipping

Now I probably need to get a fan to keep it cool and hope that the HDMI from my laptop will work well enough.

On my wish list is a HDI Dune BD Prime Media Streamer With-Blu-Ray but it is way too pricey.

resisted that, but couldn't resist finally doing a tv update...

BB had it on sale, but Samsung somewhat recently refreshed it's lineup with better specs and slimmed down profiles.

my LN52B750 is coming Sunday morning. 1080p, 240Mhz refresh and a 2ms response time...just over 3 inches in depth.

got a tilt and swivel mount (as well as some other stuff) coming from monoprice so that I can put an ethernet and HDMI connection in the wall directly behind the tv once we get it mounted. an electrician is going to have to come and put in a power outlet for us as well. so now, out of the back of the entertainment cabinet, one HDMI and one ethernet cable will plug into the wall (from the receiver and ethernet hub respectively), the cables will be in the wall and then short cables will be from the wall to the back of the tv...a nice clean install.

now, should I mount it myself to the two studs, or should I pay someone to do it? I'm thinking I pay someone

Seems like it would be an awesome set. Is the picture quality really that fantastic?

If you have to ask, you're not confident enough in your own ability to do it. For mounting a $2000+ TV you better be damn sure of yourself.

picture quality is awesome...the photos don't do it justice.

as far as the mounting...I was reading some articles on crutchfield about mounting it...I may end up mounting it myself. if I do though, I'm going to make darn sure I have found the studs by drilling pilot holes...installing closet organization yesterday made me realize that our condo might not be 'standard' when it comes to studs

so yeah, mounting it was a piece of cake. find the two studs, predrill the holes and you're fine.

mount is nice, very sturdy and has tilt/swivel options...unfortunately though, because of those options, it's not as flush as I would like when it's 'all the way in'...so I ordered a new mount. the mount prices from monoprice are so good I really don't care that I've now bought two mounts.

the one I bought first was 3337 and was like 60ish after shipping. The new one I ordered was 4114 and is like 30ish after shipping. So two mounts from there are still less than what one costs in the store. and I completely trust my 52" on the mount. hopefully the new one comes soon.

I think my brother might buy the other mount
